New Credit Card

Recently, I signed-up for "The American Express®True Cashback Card" whereby I can enjoy 5% cash back for the first 3 months.

Initially, I signed-up with the thought that "Ok lah, just give it a try and I can always cancel it if I don't like". To my surprise, it actually turns out to be a pleasant surprise when my first bill came! I see the cash back in the same bill. This means that whatever amount that I spent using the card is discounted 5% immediately.

Some people might think that there are not many merchants accept American Express. Well, to a certain extends, this is one of the drawback. I checked a few merchants which I often spend on and I would like to share it here for your reference. Please don't get it wrong that I am trying to promote anything here. Well, I am not an insurance agent nor property agent nor credit cards promoter not any sales person. I am just sharing as consumer point of view. Who knows, few of you might be sharing even better idea to be a smarter consumer. Going back to my previous point, so far bigger NTUC outlets, M1 and Watsons are accepting American Express whereas McDonald's, Singtel and SP Services are not.

Before this, I actually signed up for OCBC Frank Credit Card. When this credit card bill came at the first time, I actually called up the hotline to check why I don't see any cash back in the bill. After that then I realized that the cash back came in after I paid up the credit card bill. So by now, I guess you can better understand why I said I have pleasant surprise in the beginning of the post just now.

First Home in Singapore

L ike many other Singaporean, at theage of early twenties, I am planning to purchase my first home. At this stage,I am at a cross junction whereby I will have to choose what type of home I needto go for. Since I am not rich and I do not want any external assistance(borrow money from parent), private property is definitely out. 2nd HOME in Singapore

C orrect me if I am wrong, my understanding of HDB rule is the local can purchase second residential property after serving 5 years of minimum occupation period for the HDB flat.   After residing in the HDB flat for more than 4 years, wild dream began to appear in my mind.
